INLD on Monday demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge into the issue. Accusing Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Terming the change of land use in the Gurgaon Manesar Urban Complex master plan as the mother of all scams, the INLD on Monday demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge into the issue. Accusing Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda of blatantly favouring former state minister Gopal Kanda, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) secretary general Ajay Singh Chautala said: “It seems that the government has failed to learn from court judgments on the Gurgaon, Jhajjar and Rohtak land deals. In a shameless manner, it not only converted prime agriculture land bought by former minister Gopal Kanda’s cronies but also overturned the Draft Development Plan of the Gurgaon Manesar Urban Complex, 2031.”

Chautala further alleged that apart from Kanda, such decisions were part of a greater nexus that facilitated projects of a few other leaders as well. He promised to expose the Hooda government’s various scams, particularly, he added, where the government had connived with builders and realtors. “The Chief Minister should quit after being exposed badly on all fronts. These are nothing but clear cases of the government’s criminal intent, where it has taken its usual route to hobnob with builders to dupe the public and rob the state exchequer,” Chautala said.

Ridiculing the government for preparing the master plan up to 2031, Chautala said that while the Congress-led central government was unsure of its survival, the party’s most vulnerable chief minister was planning for 2031 “as if his government was going to survive till then”

Gopal Goyal Kanda in jail in Geetika case, Haryana does his partners a 40-acre favour

On August 29, eleven days after former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda was arrested for his alleged role in the death of MDLR air hostess Geetika Sharma, a state-level committee showed the green light to a draft master plan for the Gurgaon-Manesar belt that was tweaked to include 40 acres of prime land purchased by Kanda’s business partners earlier this year.

Land bought by Sarv Realtors Pvt Ltd — Kanda’s partners Tej Prakash Bansal and Navneet Kumar are its directors — changed zones from agriculture to residential use within three months of purchase.

Two sets of the Draft Development Plan of Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex 2031 were prepared on June 7 this year — the first was minus the 40 acres in Sector 68 of Gurgaon while the second took care to include it (see photos).

According to records of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Navneet Kumar and Kanda are partners in a firm called King Buildcon Pvt Ltd. Kumar is director while Kanda is the additional director. Bansal and Kanda are additional directors in Witness Construction Pvt Ltd.

Kumar is from Ellenabad in Sirsa, Kanda’s hometown. Bansal is a resident of Gurgaon where Kanda has a house and the office of his MDLR Group.

On March 5, Bansal was appointed director of Sarv Realtors which already had Kumar as director since April 2011. From April 5, Sarv Realtors started appearing in the revenue records of Badshahpur, Gurgaon district, as the company began getting the land registered. The last registration entry for Sarv Realtors was made on June 27.

Geetika suicide case chargesheet by Nov

Delhi Police are likely to file a chargesheet in the Geetika Sharma suicide case by the first week in November.

A senior police official said they are verifying the electronic evidence recovered from the homes and offices of key accused and former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda.
“We have collected all the evidence and will file the chargsheet within 60 days,” the official said.

The 46-year-old, chairman and managing director of MDLR Group, is accused of hounding his employee Geetika to death. He, however, claims that he is being framed in the case, and insists that it is a political conspiracy hatched to tarnish his image.

Police also said Ankita Singh, an MDLR Group employee whose name was also mentioned in Geetika’s two-page suicide note, will be questioned soon.

“She is in touch with us, so we hope to take her statement as soon as possible,” the official added.

In the suicide note, Geetika alleged that Ankita had an illicit relationship with Kanda and has a girl child from him. The official, however, denied to answer any question related to interrogation of the actor Nupur Mehta in Mumbai.

According to sources, a team questioned Nupur, former senior vice-president at MDLR Airlines, for three hours late on Monday evening.

Geetika had hanged herself at her home in Ashok Vihar on August 5.
Her family alleges that Kanda was harassing the 23-year-old, who worked with several MDLR Group companies.
