Gopal Goyal Kanda in jail in Geetika case, Haryana does his partners a 40-acre favour

On August 29, eleven days after former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda was arrested for his alleged role in the death of MDLR air hostess Geetika Sharma, a state-level committee showed the green light to a draft master plan for the Gurgaon-Manesar belt that was tweaked to include 40 acres of prime land purchased by Kanda’s business partners earlier this year.

Land bought by Sarv Realtors Pvt Ltd — Kanda’s partners Tej Prakash Bansal and Navneet Kumar are its directors — changed zones from agriculture to residential use within three months of purchase.

Two sets of the Draft Development Plan of Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex 2031 were prepared on June 7 this year — the first was minus the 40 acres in Sector 68 of Gurgaon while the second took care to include it (see photos).

According to records of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Navneet Kumar and Kanda are partners in a firm called King Buildcon Pvt Ltd. Kumar is director while Kanda is the additional director. Bansal and Kanda are additional directors in Witness Construction Pvt Ltd.

Kumar is from Ellenabad in Sirsa, Kanda’s hometown. Bansal is a resident of Gurgaon where Kanda has a house and the office of his MDLR Group.

On March 5, Bansal was appointed director of Sarv Realtors which already had Kumar as director since April 2011. From April 5, Sarv Realtors started appearing in the revenue records of Badshahpur, Gurgaon district, as the company began getting the land registered. The last registration entry for Sarv Realtors was made on June 27.
